DAVID ROCKEFELLER QUOTES | DAVID ROCKEFELLER BIOGRAPHY
ROCKEFELLER FAMILY
David Rockefeller
David Rockefeller was born on June 12, 1915 in America. Rockefeller published his Memories in 2002. This book remained his autobiography. He is also known as a philanthropist. According to the New York Times Rockefeller donated about $900 million during his lifetime. He also donated $100 million to Harvard University that he had graduated in 1936. Rockefeller left $3.3 billion-worth fortune after his death.
1. Look for new chances. He started his career from government service. In 1946, Rockefeller came to the world of banking at Chase National Bank. Beginning his work as a manager, he became a chief executive and chairman too.
2. The best leader. Most of the great and influential people are good leaders. They know how to encourage others to fulfil some special tasks. He said once, “Good leadership consists of showing average people how to do work of superior people.”
3. The ability of turning a disaster into an opportunity. What is the difference between average people and the great is that the genius people always find ways to overcome obstacles or use those obstacles on their own purposes when difficulties are the unseparated part of everyone`s life.
4. Do what you love! Perhaps, Rockefeller wouldn`t have been a good actor or musician as we know him as a good leader, banker and philanthropist. The genius of the great people is the fact that they were able to determine what they loved and found courage in themselves to be engaged in it.
Rockefeller`s quotes:
“If you want to succeed you should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success.” In these words, you can see an ambitious person`s attitude to search for something new every time.
“Perseverance can overcome all obstacles. Even the laws of nature can`t stop it.”
“I always tried to turn every disaster into an opportunity.” While common people despair at the time of challenges of life, the genius people always try to find a new solution to a problem as others call. If they can`t find that solution they will turn it into the source of success.
“If your only goal is to become rich, you will never achieve it.” Both Rockefeller and Bill Gates were the richest people of the world. However, they always repeat that if money is your main purpose, you won`t able to achieve it.
“The road to happiness lies in two simple principles: find what it is that interests you and that you can do well, and when you find it put your whole soul into it every bit of energy and ambition and natural ability you have.”
“The secret of success is to do the common things uncommonly well.”
“God gave me my money.”
“Singleness of purpose is one of the chief essentials for success in life, no matter what may be one`s aim.”
